Picture a sleek office tower atop a state-of-the-art, fully-automated factory. In the office, research chemists work with skilled marketing specialists while hundreds of customer service agents in cubicles answer phones 24 hours a day. Downstairs, conveyor belts whisk mass-produced bottles to banks of box-packing robots as UPS tractor-trailers idle, awaiting their cargo.

We're not anything like that.

We're not a branch of a multinational conglomerate pretending to be a small business.

We're not a chemical products enterprise underwritten by a rock star's bored girlfriend.

We're not a multilevel marketing scheme.

We're a super-efficient team of fewer than ten very dedicated environmentalists. And this miniscule team does it all: answering your email, answering the phone, assembling gift samplers by hand, bookkeeping, building custom order-processing software, layout and design of our crafting facilities, customer service, label application, label design, label printing, making plant extracts, managing our organic farm, office layout and design, order processing, ordering of packaging materials, ordering of raw materials, package design, packing and tracking orders, participation in "organic" industry committees, photography, preparation and management of USDA Organic certification documents and processes, product crafting (all products—by hand), product dispensing, product formulation, public relations, public speaking, quality control, researching and sourcing fair trade items for our two stores, researching and sourcing organic materials, researching and sourcing responsible packaging materials, researching environmental and health related issues, staffing our stores, store design, web site copywriting, web site design and coding, writing educational articles and doing lots of environmental activist work.

And, as far as we know, this small but mighty team crafts more types of genuine 100% USDA certified organic body care products than any other company, big or small, on the planet.

We've been participating for years in "organic" industry committees, fighting for high standards for body care products called "organic." Not one other company has insisted on standards as high as ours—the USDA organic standard. We've tried for years to work with "healthy" stores, but found lots of resistance as many stores aren't happy with our mission of teaching folks about the chemical ingredients lurking in "all natural" and "organic" products. So, why do we do what we do? We do it because, to us, it's more important to see change in the world than change in our pockets.

We thank you for searching out the ingredients that are really natural instead of polluting synthetic industrial chemicals.
